  I've been banking at PNC for a long time. It used to be great. Lately it has made many changes that I don't like. The tellers are all still great. But today was the icing on the cake. Suddenly, they would not notarize a document for me, a service they have provided many other times. Further, there was no explanation. The teller asked someone who looked like a supervisor who simply confirmed that they do not notarize documents. When I then asked a teller to ask the manager — and I was clearly upset by this time, though still calm and polite — the manager simply sent the teller (who was very nice and apologetic) to tell me that they don't notarize documents that might put the bank at risk. I was still upset and within view of the manager. The manager should have come out to talk to me. Further, this was not a document of major consequence, which I told them. This was a request for a copy of my daughter's birth certificate, not a money transfer from Ghana! Yes, I am upset, but really I think I am grieving. I am mostly upset because as of a year ago, I would have said I felt like banking at PNC was banking with friends. Now, after my last three trips to PNC, though the tellers are still very nice, everything else has become cold, institutionalized and uncommunicative. It's like the people are the same but there has been an institution shift in philosophy. I don't want to change banks. That's a pain. But if the pain of banking at PNC keeps up, I will be looking for a credit union. The two stars are for how it used to be and the friendliness of the tellers who are still there. They dealt well with my frustration and anger. OK, end of rant.

  Sorry to say that I'm not impressed with a bank that makes appointments and promises to their customers only to stand them up and let them down. That's what I am getting from PNC. They called me to come in and open new accounts with them and then they don't show up for the meeting. I will be looking elsewhere to move forward with my next financial venture. Thanks for wasting my time. If you couldn't make the appointment you could have called to reschedule but you didn't even do that.

  I banked with this branch for 6 years. Every since the last manager left, i had nothing but problems. The last 2 times i went in. I sit for 20 minutes waiting on someone that can't do anything i came to do... moving on
