  Low ratings because of the smell in other parts of town? We live in a society. We make waste. Sorry if you can smell your trash in your part of the urban sprawl. First and foremost, doesn't cost much to use this place. Most things go by weight, and a whole truck bed of concrete, brick and rebar cost me about 12 bucks. The weigh scale is plenty wide and the scale operators are friendly and knowledgeable, and they have snacks for my dogs. Right up front, the basic drop off is easy to access and the attendants help you get everything into the right bin, and they try and recycle as much as they can. There is also free soil/mulch that is made from recycling our yard trimmings. Excellent for backyard gardens. Further back but still easily accessible you can drop your yard waste, concrete/gravel and things like that. Also, recycling and chemical disposal are visible from the front and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable personnel. Honestly, and this great, you can see more Florida wildlife at this dump than anywhere else, haha. You can see wild Osceola turkeys, alligators, crows, seagulls, bald eagles, red-shouldered hawks, red tailed hawks, osprey, armadillos, gopher tortoises, yellow-eared sliders, snapping turtles, a wide variety of waterfowl, waders, and song birds, and even a snake or two. I'm not suggesting you load the family up and take them to the dump for a wild Florida safari, but if you're dropping off some junk keep your eyes peeled for a baldy. Really the only thing I don't like is there is this one supervisy guy who pulls up in his little golf cart and tells me my dogs have to stay in the truck when I'm shoveling soil for the garden, but I can't knock them for that I guess. Its a well-run piece of government staffed by friendly people that are invested in responsibly sorting and re-purposing our waste. Kudos.
